Lauren Hughes has been leading on the policy development and implementation within NHS England for the delegation of appropriate specialised services to ICBs, working with regional and national NHSE colleagues, clinical and ICB partners. She also leads the strategy function for specialised services and a number of priority national transformation programmes, including on hepatitis C elimination, genomics, in the renal pathway and on neural sciences. Prior to joining the specialised commissioning team in 2021, Lauren has worked in NHSE leading clinical policy and programmes since 2013, and prior to that in DHSC, Cabinet Office and HM Treasury.
