Vani Manja joined Boehringer Ingelheim UK & Ireland in February 2023 as Country Managing Director and Head of Human Pharma. She brings insights and broad expertise in healthcare management, patient access and benefit models from several markets around the world, including India, Germany and the USA.

After joining Boehringer Ingelheim US in 2011, where she held leadership roles in strategy and operations, marketing and sales, Vani transferred to Germany in 2016 as Regional Business Manager for Japan before being promoted to Global Head of Go-To-Market Transformation and Business Steering for the Human Pharma Business Unit. She subsequently moved to Boehringer Ingelheim India to take up the role of Country General Manager.

With over two decades of global experience in McKinsey & Company, Becton Dickinson and Boehringer, Vani’s leadership is characterised by strong global mobility and cross-functional expertise across healthcare and management consulting. Her functional experience covers strategy, marketing, sales, business development, general management, and business and cultural transformation.

Prior to embarking on her international career, Vani served as a Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army Ordnance Corps.
Vani holds an MBA and MA in International Studies from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Chemistry from Delhi University.
