Alison Matthews

Senior JSNA researcher, Public Health & Communities, Suffolk County Council

Alison Matthews is a passionate advocate for reducing health disparities through the power of data. A dynamic communicator, with deep expertise in knowledge management and public health, she uncovers insights and presents them compellingly, so colleagues can improve lives and our communities can thrive.
Her work with Community Voices showcases how evidence-informed collaboration can drive successful and meaningful change for underserved communities by delivering what people need want and need.
Alison is a trustee of Suffolk User Forum, an independent, user-led organisation that gives mental health services users and their carers a voice, to influence change through mental health advocacy, peer support and user involvement.
When not nerding out on data, Alison can be found on stage at local comedy nights, practising her improv, or using storytelling skills to share the realities of living with severe mental illness, challenging stigma and fostering understanding.
